Jodie Chiemi Ching is the editor of San-Times, a Hawaii-based publication highlighting the people, stories, and traditions of the Japanese American community. A longtime storyteller and community advocate, she previously served as editor of The Hawaiʻi Herald and as a protocol and community relations specialist under Hawaiʻi Governor David Ige.
She is also a recipient of the Okinawan Prefectural Government Scholarship for Okinawan descendants, an experience that deepened her connection to Okinawa and its culture.
Jodie is the author of the children’s book IKIGAI: Life’s Purpose, written under the pen name Chiemi Souen.
Through San-Times, she continues to connect generations by sharing stories of community, culture, and achievement. She lives in Honolulu.
