The 43rd Okinawan Festival commemorates the 125th Anniversary of Okinawan immigration to Hawaii. The celebration brings the largest delegation from Okinawa in the 43 years of the Festival, including Governor Denny Tamaki and mayors from 40 of Okinawa’s 41 municipalities.

A major highlight of the Festival will be the Hawaii-Okinawa Forum, scheduled for Saturday, August 30, 2025 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on the 3rd Floor, Meeting Room 311, with seating for 250 attendees. The Forum is free but registration is required. Panelists include Governor Tamaki (Okinawa Prefectural Government), former Gov David Ige (Hawaii Government), Lynn Miyahira (East-West Center), and Mark Higa (HUOA).
